The May GO Pass is set to provide exciting rewards for Pokémon GO trainers from May 6 to June 3. Players can earn valuable items like Stardust, XP, and a special encounter with the legendary Pokémon Yveltal by completing tasks for GO Points. For an enhanced experience, trainers also have the option to purchase a deluxe version of the pass, which offers premium rewards. Currently, the GO Pass is still undergoing testing and is not available to all players across different regions.
This pass builds upon Pokémon GO’s existing monetization strategies, which frequently introduce new ways for players to gain additional rewards, such as tickets and boxes. Following the launch of the Tour Pass for GO Tour: Unova, Niantic introduced the first GO Pass in April, allowing players to unlock rewards through various in-game activities. For the month of April, players were able to encounter Xerneas, another legendary Pokémon from Pokémon X and Y. With the announcement of the May GO Pass, trainers will have the chance to catch Yveltal.
From May 6 at 10:00 a.m. to June 3 at 10:00 a.m. local time, select regions will receive a free pass that allows trainers to level up by completing tasks to earn GO Points. The free rewards include encounters with Yveltal, Stardust, XP, Poké Balls, and Candy. For players opting for the deluxe pass available on the Pokémon GO Web Store, rewards will include the free items plus premium offerings such as Candy XL, additional encounters, and Lure Modules. As trainers reach major milestones, they can unlock extra benefits, including a longer Daily Adventure Incense duration and increased rewards from Research Breakthroughs.
It’s crucial for players to note that all rewards must be claimed by June 5 at 10:00 a.m. local time. While the GO Pass is still in testing, Niantic plans to expand this rewards system, offering players even more opportunities in the future.
