Nintendo Switch Online has introduced new Zelda icons for fans of two classic games: Ocarina of Time and The Adventure of Link. Players can unlock these icons using Platinum Points after starting up the respective games. However, this offer is time-sensitive, running until June 30, which means fans should act quickly to secure their limited-time collectibles. Nintendo has a history of adding new icons to the Switch that players can use as profile images.
With a variety of options already available, fans often choose icons based on their favorite Nintendo titles. The introduction of these new Zelda icons enhances the collection, especially for those who cherish the nostalgia of the N64 and NES eras of The Legend of Zelda series. In addition to the icons, the latest update to the Nintendo Classics library now features four more Game Boy games for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Players can specifically look forward to acquiring new icons based on The Adventure of Link and Ocarina of Time.
The Adventure of Link has five unique icons that echo the sprite artwork from the original title, while Ocarina of Time boasts thirteen icons showcasing Link’s various forms, alongside important characters such as Zelda, Sheik, and Ganondorf. To obtain these new icons, players must spend Platinum Points, and they need to boot up the games on their system first. Simply starting the games in the Nintendo Classics app is sufficient; players do not need to progress through them. Each icon costs 10 Platinum points, and booting up either game will award players 50 points—100 if both games are opened.
However, it’s important to note that Ocarina of Time requires access to the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack. While fans await new updates for Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, Nintendo continues to provide existing Switch owners with engaging opportunities. Though players will have time to accumulate the necessary Platinum Points for these icons, they should remember that this promotion expires on June 30. After that date, the icons will no longer be available for the foreseeable future.
