World of Warcraft Addresses Dastardly Duos Bug but Introduces a New Issue

The recent Dastardly Duos event in World of Warcraft has seen a mix of exciting content and frustrating bugs. While Blizzard has managed to fix a glitch that boosted old Legendary weapons to current power levels, a new issue has emerged, reducing some gear to item level 1. This problem may prevent players from fully enjoying the rewards intended for the event, including mounts, pets, and various toys.

Dastardly Duos invites players to face waves of classic enemies and bosses, either solo or in groups, while earning points based on their performance. In addition to scoring Champion gear and achievements, players can complete weekly quests related to this event to unlock exclusive rewards. However, the fun has been marred by glitches that have disrupted gameplay.

One significant bug previously allowed Legendary items, such as Nasz’uro from Dragonflight and Shadowmourne from Wrath of the Lich King, to scale up to current power levels. This was unintended, leading to a hotfix that documentedly resolved the issue. Unfortunately, while addressing this, Blizzard inadvertently introduced the new bug that can cause players’ maximum gear item levels to drop to 1, especially for those equipped with cosmetic Tabards or Shirts.

This effectively renders their equipment useless in Dastardly Duos, making it challenging to progress. Players encountering this bug can mitigate the issue temporarily by removing their Tabards or Shirts. However, they may also need to requeue into Dastardly Duos after leaving their instance group to restore functionality.

Unfortunately, the fixes for the Legendary weapon scaling have left those who own these once-valuable items at a loss, having lost their relevance in both Dastardly Duos and Timewalking dungeons. Fans can only hope for a return of usefulness for these rare artifacts in the future.
