Pokemon GO Players Can Choose Their Favorite Pokémon for August Community Day Event

Pokémon GO is gearing up for its upcoming Community Day voting, allowing players to select their preferred Pokémon for August 2025. The candidates include Frillish, Wimpod, Rookidee, and Lechonk.

Voting will take place on the game’s official YouTube channel, starting June 7 at 6:00 PM PDT and lasting for 24 hours. Each player can cast only one vote.

Every candidate comes with a unique Charged Attack they’ll learn upon evolving. For example, Frillish can evolve into Jellicent with the attack Poltergeist, while Lechonk evolves into Oinkologne with Disarming Voice.

The results of the poll will be announced shortly after it concludes, and additional details regarding event bonuses will be shared later. The summer-themed Delightful Days season is currently underway in Pokémon GO, and exciting events are anticipated in the following months.

Recent trailers hinted at the long-awaited introduction of Pokémon like Hisuian Lilligant and Yamper, along with fan favorites such as Quaxly and Eevee. Indeed, an Eevee Community Day Classic has been confirmed for July 5, along with the major event planned for August.

In this exciting community feature, trainers are encouraged to rally behind their desired Pokémon until the voting period begins. Frillish has been in the game since 2021, while Lechonk debuted in 2023 and has a lower evolution candy cost.

Rookidee, released in January 2025, is the most recent candidate and notably does not have a shiny form available in Pokémon GO at this time. Additionally, Wimpod is known for being one of the more challenging Pokémon to evolve, requiring 400 Candy.

Fans should also mark June 21 for Jangmo-o’s first Community Day.
