Capcom’s highly anticipated Street Fighter 6 will soon be available on the Switch 2 with an exciting update set for June 5. This update will introduce Elena as a new downloadable fighter, marking a significant addition to the character roster.
Alongside this launch, a bundle titled Street Fighter 6: Years 1–2 Fighters Edition will be released across all platforms, encompassing the base game as well as the first two years of downloadable fighter content. Among the notable characters included in the Years 1–2 Fighters Edition are Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui, both renowned figures from SNK’s Fatal Fury franchise.
Elena, who last appeared in Ultra Street Fighter 4, brings her unique Capoeira fighting style—characterized by dance-like movements and powerful kicks—back into the series. Players will also have access to her classic outfits from previous games upon her release.
Additionally, June 5 marks a pivotal moment for Street Fighter 6 as it aims to attract more players with the launch of its Switch 2 port. With server maintenance anticipated on June 3, starting at 10:00 PM Eastern, players can expect new outfits for the Year 2 DLC fighters following the update.
However, physical copies for the Switch 2 will be available on a Game-Key Card that requires a substantial 50 GB download, with DLC fighters obtainable via a voucher that will be valid until 2027. The timing of this launch coincides with a recent collaboration between Street Fighter 6 and Monster Hunter Wilds, which began on May 28.
This partnership introduced new cosmetic outfits and featured the infamous villain Akuma from Street Fighter, adding further excitement as Capcom continues to foster interest in Street Fighter 6. With a thrilling array of characters, an evolved combat system, and engaging single-player and multiplayer modes, Street Fighter 6 is well-positioned to maintain its momentum as it enters its third year.
Players can expect to experience both legendary masters and popular newcomers, all within a dynamic and immersive gaming environment.
