Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have unveiled new events featuring Porygon2, including Mass Outbreaks and Seven-Star Tera Raids. These exciting events will continue until June 15 at 7:59 PM Eastern, offering trainers increased odds of encountering Shiny Porygon2.
In the Tera Raid, known as Porygon2 the Unrivaled, the Pokémon boasts unique attacks and starts without items in play. Porygon2, often regarded as the Virtual Pokémon, originally debuted in Pokemon Gold and Silver as the first evolution of Porygon.
Players could evolve their Porygon into Porygon2 by trading it while it held the Up-Grade item. Despite the introduction of Porygon-Z in later games, Porygon2 has maintained its relevance in competitive battles, especially when equipped with an Eviolite, which enhances its defensive capabilities.
This allows Porygon2 to serve as an effective tank while it employs a variety of attacks including Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt, and Tri Attack. As the Mass Outbreak event draws to a close, more opportunities loom for trainers within Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Until June 15, waves of Porygon2 will emerge across Paldea, Kitakami, and the Terarium, with enhanced chances of Shiny appearances. The Seven-Star Tera Raid will feature Porygon2 the Unrivaled, which possesses the Normal-type as its Tera type and grants the Mightiest Mark to victorious trainers.
These recent events not only spotlight Porygon2 but also herald a new chapter in the Pokemon franchise, coinciding with the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. Following a June 3 update, players can now enjoy improved performance, achieving frame rates of up to 60 FPS.
Additionally, trainers can anticipate a special distribution of Porygon2 through a Mystery Gift Code, set to be unveiled during the 2025 Pokemon Trainers Cup in South Korea on June 7 and 8.
