Gearbox Software has officially announced that Borderlands 4 will include a Photo Mode, although fans will have to wait for its release as it won’t be available at launch. This marks the second time a game in the Borderlands series will feature this popular functionality, following Borderlands 3, which implemented it for PC at its September 2019 release, later adding it to consoles.
In recent updates, Gearbox has provided insights into the content of Borderlands 4, emphasizing player feedback as a driving force behind several new features. A notable addition is an optional combat radar, a request from the community that the development team decided to explore prior to the game’s quality assurance testing.
With the official launch set for September, there’s still a possibility for additional announcements about features coming at or after launch. Photo Mode is planned for a future update following the game’s release, although specific timing for this update remains unconfirmed.
Graeme Timmins, the Creative Director of Borderlands 4, stated that while the Photo Mode was always intended to be included, the development team prioritized enhancing the core gameplay experience and quality-of-life aspects for the initial launch. As a result, this feature had to be postponed.
Excitement for Borderlands 4 is palpable among fans, who are analyzing every piece of released gameplay for clues. The game’s ambitious graphics, however, may pose challenges for some players, with minimum PC requirements potentially exceeding the capabilities of over half of Steam users.
In Borderlands 4, players will take on the roles of four new Vault Hunters in the vibrant and perilous world of Kairos, battling against the oppressive Timekeeper and his forces. Gamers can expect thrilling combat, extensive customization, and a vast array of weapons as they embark on a co-op journey filled with exploration and unforgettable characters.
