Diablo 4 Boss Discusses Exciting Possibility of a Switch 2 Port Opportunity

Rod Fergusson has hinted at the possibility of Diablo 4 being ported to the Nintendo Switch 2. As the game continues to receive updates and new content, including the introduction of a new class, fans are eager to know whether it will be accessible on the upcoming handheld console. The Switch 2’s emphasis on performance could enable it to run Diablo 4 effectively, presenting an exciting opportunity for gamers.

In a recent discussion, Fergusson mentioned that there appears to be a potential avenue for bringing Diablo 4 to the new console. He expressed that both fans and he himself consider the game a good fit for the upcoming platform. The refreshed Switch 2 is set to feature numerous ports of older games, and Diablo 4 could be among them.

The game has undergone significant content updates since its launch, with the developers adopting a season-based system, which has introduced new enemies, rewards, storylines, and loot. The recent addition of the Spiritborn class has also revitalized gameplay, sparking further interest from the community regarding a potential Switch 2 version. Although nothing has been officially confirmed, Fergusson conveyed his optimism during an interview with Gamertag Radio.

He acknowledged that technical limitations have made live service on the Switch challenging but assured fans that they’re keeping a close watch on the Switch 2’s development. With its official release slated for June 5, 2024, the gaming world anticipates how this new console will perform. Diablo 4’s upcoming Season 8, titled Belial’s Return, is set to launch on April 29, promising new challenges and experiences.

The connection between these two platforms remains uncertain, but fans are hopeful for the future of Diablo 4 on the Switch 2.
