Koei Tecmo Reports Impressive Financial Success for the Year Ending October 2023

Koei Tecmo has reported unprecedented profits for its fiscal year 2024, achieving an 11.4% increase compared to the previous year. The successful Japanese publisher, known for franchises such as Dynasty Warriors, Dead or Alive, and Ninja Gaiden, has managed to carve out a niche in the gaming industry, particularly among fans of action games and the Musou genre. The start of 2025 has been particularly vibrant for Koei Tecmo, as the company launched five new titles within the first three months. The release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins marked a strong entry point for newcomers to the franchise, followed shortly by the roguelike spin-off, Warriors: Abyss.

Notably, Koei Tecmo unveiled a remaster of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black during Xbox’s Developer Direct showcase and also announced Ninja Gaiden 4, expected to launch later this year. The publisher also released two lesser-known titles in March: Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories and the Envisioned Land, along with Venus Vacation Prism: Dead or Alive Xtreme. Koei Tecmo’s recent fiscal year has proven to be one of its most prosperous, with total profits reaching 36.63 billion yen, or approximately 250 million US dollars. The fiscal year began on April 1, 2024, which likely contributed to the success of PlayStation 5-exclusive Rise of the Ronin.

The affordable remaster of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, released on Xbox Game Pass, alongside the commercial success of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, significantly contributed to this financial achievement. Looking forward, Koei Tecmo’s “Year of the Ninja” continues with anticipated releases like Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound and Ninja Gaiden 4. The company is also gearing up for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment on the Nintendo Switch 2, expected to debut in 2026. With an impressive portfolio and upcoming projects, Koei Tecmo is well-positioned for continued success.
